First of all, I love Mindy Kaling, and this is one of just two (at this moment) books that she is recommending--she launched this effort to elevate diverse authors that present non-mainstream western culture stories and backgrounds, and I look forward to reading the things that she puts her stamp of approval on.
This is a three-generation Indian women rom-com. All of whom lose or have lost the men in their lives, and who support each other. Bindu Desai is the grandmother, and when she inherits a million dollars, she’s astounded―and horrified. The windfall threatens to expose a shameful mistake from her youth.
